One of the most important distinctions between a conventional chiropractic approach and the NeuroStructural chiropractic approach is that our goal is to make a lasting correction. Since most conventional chiropractors are focused on a more temporary solution or a quick fix of a symptom, many patients under conventional chiropractic care are given the same series of adjustments every single time they come in – up to 3 times per week or more!
I often tell my patients that making the adjustment is the easy part. The real work comes in stabilizing that adjustment so that it maintains its normal, correct position for a long period of time. Maintaining normal alignment is not only good structurally speaking, but on a functional level, it allows all of the tissues and nerves that were being compromised the time necessary to properly heal. If you are constantly out of alignment, that healing process is constantly being interrupted!
At Precision Chiropractic, we perform a detailed analysis at the beginning of each visit that allows us to know, without a shadow of a doubt, whether an adjustment is necessary on that visit. As your doctor, one of the worst possible things I can do would be to adjust you when you were already in alignment! That would be introducing more instability into an area that we are working towards stabilizing.
