Faced with a difficult decision?
Creative inspiration escaping you?
Have you ever felt stuck and decided to hit the gym for a quick workout to clear your mind? Have you gone for a run, taken your bicycle out for a spin, or dusted off that piece of home exercise equipment that has been serving as a clothes hanger? It’s no secret that aerobic exercise makes you feel good, but now neuroscience is on your side as well, and it’s helping to explain phenomena like runner’s high and why getting up and getting moving has such beneficial, head-clearing effects.
It wasn’t long ago that neuroscientists thought that our brains had a set amount of neurons and that after adulthood, no new neurons would be born. This is now known to be false – studies are now showing that new neurons in the brain can be produced through one currently identified activity – vigorous aerobic exercise. These new cells are being formed in areas of the brain responsible for learning, memory, planning, focus and concentration. It turns out that exercising so that you’re breaking a sweat for about 30 to 40 minutes changes the physical make-up of our brains. AMAZING!
Not feeling your best when it comes time to exercise? At Precision Chiropractic, we take care of athletes of all levels, from the novice runner to the expert CrossFitter. These folks find their way to us for two main reasons – they are either experiencing discomfort and want to be able to move and work out more comfortably OR they are seeking to optimize their performance. NeuroStructural Chiropractic care is perfectly suited to help people with both of these issues, since issues in either category can typically be traced back to a primary Structural Shift of the spine.
If left uncorrected for long enough, a Structural Shift can not only compromise normal body biomechanics and movement, but can also have ill effects on overall function and health. It doesn’t matter if you’re training to complete your first 5k, or if you’re about to tackle your next Ironman, NeuroStructural Chiropractic can help you perform at your best.
