Our goal is to work collaboratively with other healthcare practitioners to ensure the best possible clinical outcomes for our mutual patients.
As a clinic focusing on NeuroStructural chiropractic (upper cervical chiropractic) we address structural issues of the spine and recognize that there are many practitioners with expertise in a variety of fields that support our patients in their fullest recovery.
Due to the expertise and precision that is required to successfully manage the craniocervical junction (CCJ), we take extra care and attention to objectively measure any presenting structural issues. Dr. Brewer, NeuroStructural chiropractor in Colorado, is one of several hundred upper cervical chiropractors certified in the KCUCS technique and is proficient in Orthospinology. She is also a candidate for the Diplomate in Chiropractic Craniocervical Junction Procedures.

The CCJ is frequently a “no-go” area for many practitioners, so unmanaged or undermanaged CCJ dysfunction is common. Hallmark signs include alterations in body posture and fluid dynamics. Mechanoreception at the CCJ is a primary neurological driver that relates the position of the body to the head. Untreated CCJ injury can yield significant failures of adaptation and imbalances to postural integrity. These can be objectively observed as functional leg length discrepancies as well as consistent tilting or twisting of the shoulders, hips, and head due to changes of tone in paraspinal musculature.
The patient with a CCJ injury may present with a multitude of complaints:
- Cervicogenic headache
- Migraine
- Neck pain and dysfunction
- Loss of balance and/or changes in gait
- Vertigo or dizziness
- Numbness and/or tingling in the extremities
- Post-exertional head pain
The frequency and severity of these symptoms usually correlate with the severity of the condition.
The sensitive nature of this region demands a thorough assessment and accurate intervention. Without the need for generalized manipulation, our goal is to rebalance the head and neck through an exacting, reproducible, and customized adjustment to the top vertebra using a precision instrument. Our personalized, patient-specific correction vectors have been demonstrated in the literature to yield safe, effective results that require fewer interventions to accomplish measurable results.
