Whiplash happens when your head and your torso go in opposite directions. This usually occurs violently, which is typical of motor vehicle accidents. It can also be a result of physical violence and sports injuries.
Here are a few facts about whiplash:
1. Women are more likely to get whiplash than men.
2. Aging increases the chances of whiplash.
3. It only requires speeds of 5-10 mph to cause soft tissue damage in the neck.
4. Pain is not the only symptom; symptoms can appear weeks or months after the initial injury.

Don’t ignore your symptoms! Pain, dizziness, trouble swallowing, headaches, blurred vision, and ringing in your ears are the most common symptoms of whiplash. These symptoms usually get worse, not better, if left uncorrected.
Get your spine realigned after a whiplash injury! The image below and on the right shows what your neck might look like if the misalignments from whiplash are not corrected.
