It got me. Despite all the precautions, my husband and I both tested positive for Covid about three weeks ago. For almost two full weeks, I bore witness to my body doing what it needed to do to combat this virus. It was more difficult than I ever would have believed, but thank goodness we are both doing great now!
Coming out of the Covid experience, I am left with a profound sense of gratitude for HEALTH. Two weeks is a long time to sit around and reflect on what’s truly important. When you don’t have your health, it’s difficult to see a way through to anything beyond feeling terrible. What I learned in those moments of feeling lousy is that:
Nobody is going to get healthy for you, you’ve got to put in the work.
When your health is compromised, it puts everyday tasks like cooking a meal, walking up a flight of steps, or having a simple telephone conversation with a friend into perspective. You’ve got to have the energy to do these things and when you don’t, it’s a real eye-opener.
YOU HEAL YOU. Health and healing are an inside job.
As we move from a season of Thanksgiving and gratitude into the blessings of the holidays, if there’s one message I want to convey, it’s that our health truly is the greatest wealth. Without it, everything else fades into the background. I have never felt more convicted in the fact that science-based, precise, upper cervical chiropractic care is a key component in the maintenance of a healthy central nervous system, a healthy body, and a healthy lifestyle and I’ll keep getting my own spine checked regularly until my time here is done.
It is my honor to care for you and yours.
Yours in good health,
Dr. Jane
