With the rise of social media comes the omnipresence of misinformation, making it very important to pair knowledge with wisdom. In this virtual world we seem to be spending more and more time in, we are incentivized to react without truly thinking.
Have you ever read a headline and then after reading the article realized that the headline was completely antithetical to the point of the article? Such is the economy of social media – getting clicks and likes, getting a rise out of us. To make us respond purely on emotion.
Calm, rational, and deliberate headlines cannot survive in this type of environment. They simply aren’t dazzling enough. So please read carefully, check the sources cited, ask questions, and absorb what you are reading… then you can decide on what to believe and what to do next.
Have a great week,
Dr. Jane
