What is the common element in both the disease and healing process? TIME. Cancer doesn’t just appear out of nowhere. The latest studies show that cancer can develop 10 years before it can even be detected. For bone spurs the same is true. It takes long periods of time of strain and stress for your body to create bone spurs in response.
Now let’s look at healing. In general, bone takes 12 weeks, muscle 6 weeks to 6 months, ligament and tendon 40 to 50 weeks to return to approximately normal strength.
If you quit smoking now it takes your lungs 10 years to fully heal and cuts your chances of getting lung cancer in half compared to someone that continues to smoke. There is no easy button in terms of healing! No magic wand!
But the question you have to ask yourself is which direction are you headed? Time can be on our side or our most formidable enemy. Take the first step today!
Have a great week,
Dr. Jane
