We may not have any control over our external circumstances, but what we always have the ability to control is our reactions to our situation. We get to pick how we respond and, in turn, how that response impacts us.
Anger or Compassion
Fear or Curiosity
Resentment or Love
Frustration or Excitement
Inadequacy or Joy
Disappointment or Gratitude
So, when Uncle Dave starts to talk politics at the dinner table, or your kitchen is a mess and nobody is helping, just take a breath and remember you get to choose your reaction in the moment.
It’s an easy concept to understand, but more difficult to practice…but like anything, practice makes perfect.
